Through these courses and programmes:
• We enable young people to be active citizens through addressing real community needs
• We work with schools, colleges, universities and communities throughout the UK
• 20,000 young people each year benefit from our programmes and ongoing support
• 9,049 volunteers participated in our programmes in 2006/7
• We trained 2,031 individuals in 2006/7.

As a voluntary sector organisation and service provider CSV can help with the achievement of targets set out in Every Child Matters: Change for Children which
are being realised through Children’s Services in every local authority area.

Furthermore, we contribute to the Core Offer for Extended Schools providing:
• A range of volunteering options to support wider activities and family and community learning
• Training and support for volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and dispositions
• New and challenging opportunities for young people to volunteer and make a positive contribution to society.

Comments

"I recently attended the CSV Student Leadership course and thought I'd let you know how life-changing it has been for me.

I feel so proud of myself to have learnt all those leadership skills. I have now offered to help organise a group during school time and helped to teach and pass on everything you taught me to younger students and hopefully they will pass them on."

Esther Williams, Year 8, Hackney Free Secondary School
