Groundwork is a federation of Trusts in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, each working with their partners in poor areas to improve the quality of the local environment, the lives of local people and the success of local businesses. Each Groundwork Trust is a partnership between the public, private and voluntary sectors with its own board of trustees. The work of the Trusts is supported by the national and regional offices of Groundwork UK and by Groundwork Wales.
Groundwork Hackney has been invited into the Borough to conduct a community consultation with the Fanshawe and Marks Gate wards. This will result in a Neighbourhood Action Plan, which can be actioned through partnership working. Groundwork Hackney will have £15,000 available to kick start projects identified in the plan, but will act more as facilitators rather than funders. Groundworks involvement with the Boroughs schools includes not only consulting young people in these wards, but also involving pupils in the regeneration projects themselves. Groundwork has previously conducted similar work with a school in another Borough ward. |
