The Barking and Dagenham Partnership is the Boroughs Local Strategic Partnership(LSP). LSPs are district level partnerships that bring together different agencies to ensure that initiatives are co-ordinated rather than contradictory. LSPs are be expected to give a stronger voice to people within the various communities involved. The Barking and Dagenham Partnership is responsible for the implementation (and creation) of two key Authority plans, the Community Strategy and Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy. The partnership is also responsible for distributing the funding attached to these strategies.
Representation on the LSP is guided buy the Community Empowerment Network, which is funded through the Community Empowerment Fund. The Barking and Dagenham LSP includes representatives from the six community forums, faith communities, the Ethnic Minority Partnership Agency and other voluntary sector bodies. The Partnership, in turn, feeds into the seven sub-groups themed according the Borough´s seven Community Priorities.
