The role of the Education Business Partnership (EBP) is to link schools and business through a range of practical projects and activities. The overall aim of the EBP is to provide young people in the Borough, with a range of quality, relevant and structured experiences of work throughout their school life, which will help raise standards of achievement, increase motivation and attendance, develop key skills and prepare young people more fully for adult and working life.
To achieve this, the EBP works closely with local business so that the business community can share in the success of education and the sense of community involvement is heightened. The range of programmes and activities delivered by the EBP has evolved in line with the changing needs of schools, the college and young people. At the same time the EBP ensures that design of programmes allows local business and their employees to make an effective contribution.
Partnership working between schools and business has major benefits for both parties. It is the job of the EBP to ensure that these benefits are realised and that links are facilitated, sustained and continue to develop.
