The Community Empowerment Fund (CEF) is designed to help local people get involved in the Government´s Programme of Neighbourhood Renewal. The CEF provides outreach and support to community and voluntary groups to enable them to participate actively in the Local Strategic Partnerships.
The Fund can be used for a variety of activities, for example:
- Communications (a community website of newsletter)
- Neighbourhood surveys
- Training for members of the LSP
The CEF is managed locally by the Barking & Dagenham Council for Voluntary Service. The aim of the project is to pull together a local community network that will include the widest possible community and voluntary groups. The funds available for the project are £113,000 a year for three years. |
