Charity flagship days/weeks (e.g. Children in Need) as well as national and international observances (e.g. World Aids Day), can be used to supplement PSHE and citizenship programmes, and act as opportunities for collapsed timetable activities or assemblies as well as providing a platform for volunteering in the wider community. In addition, many of the organisations that are behind these events produce resource packs to accompany their campaigns. Indeed, the borough undertook a number of activities for Local Democracy Week, including the launch of the Youth Forum.
