The Balanced Scorecard is a framework that helps council services translate council strategy into operational objectives that drive both behaviour and performance. It enables the Authority to:
- Translate strategy into operational terms that is recognisable to everyone
- Link-up and align the Authority around delivering the strategy
- Enable everyone to make a contribution to B&D´s strategies and targets
- Mobilise change towards the Modernising Local Government agenda
The Barking & Dagenham Balanced scorecard aims to focus the attention and activities of the local authority upon achieving the seven Community Priorities.
The Balanced Scorecard approach will seek to create the right balance and balance across 4 critical success factors, namely:
- Community First - Relations with our customers, citizens and the community
- People Matter - Organisational development (people & culture)
- Funding the Future - Financial Planning
- Performance Counts - Business processes to ensure the efficient delivery of quality services
The above factors are linked to the organisation´s overall vision for the future.
